The Bogota Moon Gardens

From Green Letter 68 onwards you can read about the Bogota Moon Garden project that Anne accidentally started with a big group of women in a poor area of South Bogota
(that we nicknamed the 'Moon gardens' because the area is utterly dry and sterile and eaten away by enormous craters caused by 2 centuries of clay quarrying and brick making)

Here are some photos of the simple fast composting method we invented:

We collected many lorryloads of free
'rubbish' from the market place

Then we put it into sacks...

...and some help from our friends to carry it

Then the ladies team went to work...

..and made beds of 'rubbish'

And more beds of 'rubbish'

And threw a bit of earth on top of the 'rubbish'

And the rubbish sprouted whilst it turned into compost...
